The Romanian Order of Architects<\/strong> (OAR), <\/strong>in partnership with the Transylvania OAR branch <\/strong>together with the Municipality of Cluj-Napoca<\/strong> and Babe\u0219-Bolyai University <\/strong>are glad to announce the official launch of the \u201dScience Campus Cluj-Napoca\u201d International Design competition.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The purpose of this competition is to select, in order to award the design contract, the best solution for Science Campus Cluj \u2014 an urban complex intended for research, education and entrepreneurship that contributes to the development of knowledge and innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located in the Lomb area of Cluj-Napoca, near the two buildings of Cluj Innovation Park (CREIC and TEAM), the complex is part of the strategy of Cluj Napoca to develop an extensive and strong infrastructure for education, research, innovation and technology transfer bringing together actors from the education and research system, the economic and entrepreneurial environment, civil society and local administration. Thus, Science Campus Cluj is a significant pillar, and this competition is an important step on the city\u2019s road to fulfil its vision of becoming a regional hub of technology, research and development, creative industries, culture and art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Contracting Authority<\/strong> is the Municipality of Cluj-Napoca<\/strong> in association with Babe\u0219-Bolyai University<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Competition is organised by the Order of Architects of Romania (OAR), a professional organization with the mission of increasing the quality of the architectural-urban planning product and increasing the value that society attributes to these services, that are considered cultural endeavors of public interest. In this respect, OAR promotes professional policies and practices that enhance the value of built heritage and favor the production of a valuable architecture, regarded as fundamental fields for the quality of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Design Competition is a public, single-stage competition, open to Romania, all countries of the European Union and of the European Economic Area, and to the Swiss Confederation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The design competition is organized as an independent procedure, in accordance with art. 105 letter a) of Law no. 98\/2016 regarding public procurement, and subsequently, pursuant to provisions under art. 104 para. (7) of the same law, the design services contract is to be awarded to the winner of the competition, following a negotiation procedure without prior publication of a participation announcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
