The utilitarian activity introduces elements  that create readily apparent visual order and focus, while the whole of the scene reflects the response of autonomous living elements and processes. In this matter it is desirable not to hide the utilitarian aspects of the landscape or to mask evidence of machinery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The urban fabric in the northern part of the city presents a strong boundary surrounding it, determined by the railway, chaotic development of the Tractorul neighborhood, and the lack of urban infrastructure that supports the quality of life \u2013 such as public spaces, green areas, and cultural and social functions that develop around them. This brings several problems at the city level by segregating this area, which becomes an enclave that feels disconnected from the historical center and the cultural identity of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rulmentul Platform, along with other development intentions for Bra\u0219ov, such as urban mobility aimed at decongesting the 13 Decembrie artery, represents an opportunity to revitalize the northern area and a first step that supports the city\u2019s development based on principles that offer a high quality of life. Implementing this project represents the engine within the northern area of Bra\u0219ov that consolidates the activity nuclei at the city level and serves the economic, social, and cultural dimensions of the city with coherent spaces and functions. The three dimensions of the city are interdependent for achieving the goal of improving the quality of life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The economic dimension will grow from the following perspectives: by implementing the new public spaces and cultural functions proposed within the platform and Hangar 6, the project beneficiary \u2013 Bra\u0219ov City Hall, will grow economically due to the public\u2019s use of the functions provided by it. The investment in creating green and public spaces, besides enhancing the city\u2019s social dimension and providing a platform that connects different social classes, brings more points of interest for using the functions within the platform. Additionally, the realization of the public-private partnership aimed at making the spaces designed within the platform and Hangar 6 available for public use represents a bridge for the economic development of the municipality and the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regarding the Rulmentul platform, the law of placement and planimetric ordering of the ensemble\u2019s constructions meets the rigorous utilitarian requirements of the industrial platform, with the interstitial exterior spaces serving them functionally and communicatively through orientation, accesses, and generous openings that respond to the specific needs of each building body. The abandonment of production activities inside, over time, has caused the associated exterior areas to lose their servant character, producing a chain reaction that led to the appearance of residual areas invaded by spontaneously and uncontrollably developed vegetation. The effect produced today by the space and unbuilt surfaces is defined as segregation from buildings and the loss of dialogue between these components.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The concept aims to restore cohesion and industrial language, in its utilitarian aspects and communicative-visual relationships, by introducing a flexible layout plan through its geometric structure. A grid generated by the structure and organization of hangars and halls, extended outside, becomes an imaginary tool for spatial ordering that allows the free introduction of centers of interest that operate according to their own rules but are governed by the functions and requirements in proximity. Thus, the proposed landscaping responds to immediate and future needs through the autonomy that gives them the freedom to maintain over time, standing on their own, and further development, through the character of compatibility and collaboration with other elements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The proposal places in a dense but controlled plantation of trees starting from the access area from 13 Decembrie Street to the intersection between Strungarie and Hangar 5, following the grid geometry that respects and integrates the existing structures which, along with the verticality of the trees, form a large hypostyle space in which a sinuous path with a dual role is introduced: distribution and viewpoint. In this first segment, the walkway offers various leisure and recreational spaces in a large green area, bringing together both functional and inactive buildings that become characters and participate in the architectural language. Continuing, it leads to the square bordered by Hangar 6, Strungarie, Hangar 5, and the central heating plant in the center, which functions to maintain activity in accordance with the gathering space.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The project uses the square as the epicenter of a diversity of functions, circulations, and connections with the entire site, with the infrastructure of the neighborhoods (both anthropic and natural) and the potential it offers for future extensions and treatments. Regarding Hangar 6, it is designed as a space that connects and facilitates communication between the square arranged in the south and the green spaces arranged near Timisului Sec, which unfold in the northern part of the hangar, with the aim of opening up and welcoming as many users as possible. This is highlighted by the functional organization of the spaces within the hangar, which features a multifunctional foyer placed centrally that takes in circulations from nearby points of interest and welcomes them into the building. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The relationship, square \u2013 hangar \u2013 green space, is emphasized by uncovering the roof of the annex in the southern part of the hangar to function as a large access apparatus serving the designed square and creating green spaces with leisure and recreational functions in the northern part, addressing activities and users coming from the area arranged near Timisului Sec. This relationship is also determined by an architectural language of the sinuous path that unifies these spaces by marking buffer-type functions within the foyer and highlighting the main circulations accessing the building. The multifunctionality of the foyer is represented not only by the proposed functions within it that present this valence but also by the possibility of adding flexible and mobile partition structures that can be used in extraordinary situations to support larger-scale social and cultural events such as festivals, Christmas markets, book fairs, various workshops, etc.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":147769,"template":"","class_list":["post-147907","project","type-project","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"yoast_head":"\n129 -
