The jury evaluation of the projects submitted in the \u201eCOLENTINA LAKES, 2nd<\/sup> District, Bucharest\u201d International Design Competition, officially launched on 28th<\/sup> of May 2024, took place between the 12nd<\/sup> and 16th<\/sup> of September. The Competition was organized by the Romanian Order of Architects (OAR), with the support of OAR Bucharest Territorial Branch, together with the Contracting Authority \u2013 the 2nd<\/sup> District of the Municipality of Bucharest.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main objective of the competition was to select the three best design solutions for each lot in order to contract the design services for the lakeshore development of the six Colentina lakes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The competition aims to develop the landscaping of the Colentina lakeshores over the entire length comprised in the 2nd<\/sup> District, in order to <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. restore the continuity of the public path on the shores by creating a green-blue promenade  (generically referred to as the blue-green corridor) that offers local support and various recreational and social activities, and integrates harmoniously within the existing natural environment and <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. improve the relationship between the lake shores and the urban surroundings through local arrangement proposals. The requirements of the competition\u2019s Brief involved the coherent and integrated development of the whole area, in accordance with its potential and its return to the community in the spirit of social equity and accessibility for all residents.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    27 architectural office teams presented themselves at the competition. 20 were from Romania – Bucharest, Cluj, Suceava, Maramure\u0219, the remaining 7 teams were from Belgium, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands and the United States of America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The results of the competition were announced on Tuesday, 17th<\/sup> September 2024, H 13:30, during a press conference<\/strong> hosted by National Arena, VIP Salon, ground floor<\/strong>, Bucharest<\/strong>. The event was live streamed on the official Facebook page of the Organizer, OAR Competitions and of the Contracting Authority \u2013 the 2nd<\/sup> District of the Municipality of Bucharest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
